![]() Robert Opel is depicted as a leather angel in this incredible erotic ink drawing by Camille O'Grady which served as the centerpiece of this the first and only anniversary exhibition held at Robert's Fey Way Studios from March 3 through 22, 1979. The publicity flyer lists the names of the 18 participants which includes "Tom" better known as Tom of Finland. Several of these artists had individual shows at Fey-Way. Robert Opel was a good friend and collaborator in the late 70s when I first moved to San Francisco. My contribution to this exhibition the only time I exhibited at Fey-Way Studios was a circular photo collage of myself made of an original old b/w Polaroid picture and photocopies made from the image. Like most works exhibited, it remained unsold. I never even bothered to pick it up after the show which was my way of giving it to Robert. Watch for more memorabilia and the story of Robert Opel's assassination by a crazed gunman in his living area behind the gallery less than six months after this exhibition.
